What is the best question to ask a flight attendant on a flight
What is the best question to ask a flight attendant on a flight?
Let’s say you are alone, bored and curious on board a very long flight.
You want to chit chat with the cabin crew on board to kill some time.
These are the best questions I would ask the crew if I were the lonely, bored and curious passenger on board:::
I have heard that certain aircraft types have these so called crew rest compartment. Does this aircraft have that? Is it possible for me to see what it looks like?
If the crew you talk to is nice, isn’t busy or no other crew is sleeping there he or she might show you the secret crew rest compartment on board.
Some of the aircraft in the world that have these crew rest compartments are:
A340 - A330 - A380
B747 - B777 - B787
If they hand out amenity kits on board your flight and you are seated in economy why not ask this:
What does the amenity kits in business class contain? Is it possible for me to see inside one of those from business class? I am so curious and it would be so fun to check those out.
If the crew is nice then they might give you one from business class.
If you simply wish to talk with a crew on board but don’t know how to start the conversation, then perhaps these questions will help you to start the conversation:
Thank you for the excellent service you guys gave us so far. By the way I have a sister/brother (or yourself) that wish to become a cabin crew, do you have any advice for my sister/brother?
How is the cabin crew recruitment process?
How long have you worked as a crew?
Do we have to have some kind of previous cabin crew experience if we wanted to join this airline as crew?
(If the crew is working in economy) Have you ever thought of working in business class, first class, cabin senior or purser?
Do you guys have to wear a skirt as part of the uniform or can you choose to wear long pants as well?
Do you enjoy working as a crew?
What is the negative and the positive sides of your job?
Have you worked with other airlines before you joined this?
A bunch of questions similar to those above aimed to get to know the crew more would make the crew relax a bit more and start talking. It is questions that all crew wouldn’t mind answering. Crew love to talk about themselves and their job. From there hopefully the conversation will bloom.
Advice:
Do not press the call bell and expect the crew to run to you so you can chit chat with them. Go to the galley and talk with the crew there.
Talking with the crew when you are sitting in your seat is not the optimal place to talk. There are other passengers around and they will most probably listen to your conversations. You guys would not get any privacy.
Also the passengers around would most probably find it annoying to hear you guys talk. Talking with the crew in the galley is the best place.
Pay attention if the crew is busy or not. If they are busy then wait and talk later.
If you see them sitting in the jump seat and eating their meals, then do not disturb. Let them have their break in peace and come back later.
